Kinja'd!!!

I left LA this morning with my family for an easy drive over to Palm Springs; home base for the next week. I've got some canyon routes mapped out which will fully exploit the unlimited mileage afforded by Silver Car on my A4 2.0T rental.

Kinja'd!!!

According to the MMI system, the A4 will require an oil change in 2 months / 1300 miles...or, on Wednesday :)

Hoping to get my Mulholland Drive GoPro footage sorted tonight, which I'll be sure to post as soon as it's up.

I've been posting lots of pics over on Instagram (@jbh1126) and will be doing a full write up on the Silver Car / CA driving experience with videos once I get home.

CHEERS!

Are you local? Would love to follow someone on some of these roads, first time 'round.

No. I live in LA and my car is undergoing some repairs due to a faulty turbo.

New Year's day was my first time out there.

Despite leaving early I wasn't able to explore as much as I wanted to.

There's a visitor's center there if you want to be more organized than I was. National Monument Visitor's Center.

There's also Lake Hemet and Idyllwild has a few restaurants if you get hungry and don't want to drive back down the mountain back to Palm Springs.

oops, I didn't see this when I posted on your other Idyllwild one. Probably passed by you somewhere in town! Don't ever go to Las Casuelas (Mexican restaurant) on a busy day; they have issues with their kitchen, wait staff is fine, reservation team needs some work though. Took something like 45 mins to get a typically dinner on the 30th; and we found issues with the food so.... If you like a great drive, take 15 to 76 to 79 back to 15 loop by Palomar. It's in the boonies so be prepared.
